What is the difference between soil and dust?
Soil - is alive with billions of microorganisms in every cupful. These microorganisms break down the plant residue and nutrients making them available to the roots of plants. Also other organisms (worms ect.)
Dust - is the top layer of the earth that is lacking moisture. The organisms leave the dry earth or die or become dormant. They are no longer active in helping break down the nutrients. What organisms that do live in the dust are not helpful to man. (Dust mites, ect) That which live in or moves upon dust is not good.
Water carries the nutrients into the roots of the plant. Lack of water caused the microorganisms to stop helping break down the nutrients (dead or dormant). The roots no longer absorb the nutrients. The plant dries out and dies.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 ¶ He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
Colossians 1:16-17 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Jeremiah 10:12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

1Samuel 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.
· These verses make it plain the world and the earth are not the same. But they are tied together.
· They are upon the same pillars.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

· The dust is the face of the earth
Proverbs 8:26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

· Crops (fruit) are planted in the fields.
The world and the earth are mingled with one another in the dust that man was formed from. Where they are connected is a dead area with very little life.
Note : In Genesis 1:24 the earth brought forth the living creature. Man was made from the dust and had to have life breathed into him (Genesis 2:7)
Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
· As long as man could eat of the fruit of the tree of life he could live forever. When the LORD God kept man from the fruit of the tree of life man death became the future of all mankind.
· The curse of the serpent and the curse of the ground, are tied to the heart of man being only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)
