Remember The Scapegoat

In Lev 16 After the high priest made atonement for himself he went behind the veil again and sprinkled the blood of the goat of the sin offering for the people to make atonement them.

After the body of Jesus Christ was placed in the grave He descended into the heart of the earth for three days and three nights then rose from the dead as the priest of the most high God, after the order of Melchisedec, King of righteousness, King of peace, HOLINESS TO THE LORD with a body, made of a woman, that was once again reconciled to God, His Father.

Where was this done? Hebrews 8:2, 4; 9:8, 24

Jesus Christ, our High Priest unto the most high God had to make the atonement for all who had ever sinned or ever would sin. This too had to be done in the true tabernacle He pitched in the presence of God.

When was this done?

·       (John 20:17) When Mary Magdalene realized it was the risen Lord she turned and called Him master. He told her not to touch him because He had not ascended to his Father in His resurrected body. Atonement had not been made for her.

·       (John 20:27) After eight days (V26) the risen Lord told Thomas to touch him. During those eight days Jesus Christ the High Priest in His resurrected body, ascended to the presence of the Father in the tabernacle the Lord had pitched and made atonement for Mary Magdalene, for Thomas and for us.

How was this done?

1st In his resurrected body, Jesus Christ sprinkled the blood from that holy thing, that body that was prepared from him, around and upon the mercy in the true tabernacle.

·       There was something else that had to be done during these eight days to complete the atonement we have received through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 5:11

·       The iniquity of “The Holy Thing” sacrificed for the sin of the world, our sin, had to be removed.

2nd the iniquity of all the sins of the world, the sins for which that “Holy Thing” had been sacrificed for went upon Jesus Christ, the High Priest, reconciling the world to God.

·       The High Priest had made the atonement, sin had been paid for and forgiven Lev 5:13

·       Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more

·       How could He who had the iniquity of all the sin of the world placed upon Him completely, perfectly forget those sins.

3rd Remember the scapegoat!

Jesus Christ: the fit man and the Scapegoat   Lev 16:20-22

·       Jesus Christ has a body made like unto his brethren. Heb 2:16 Melchisedec had a body after the nature of the angels.

·       Jesus Christ after the order of Melchisedec [King of Righteousness, King of Peace, Priest of the most high God, HOLINESS TO THE LORD] is the true fit man

·       Eph 4:9-10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. (Ps 103:12)

·       To fill all things the iniquity of that ”Holy Thing” (Luke 1:35) had to be removed into a place not inhabited. This had to be fulfilled through the true scapegoat and the true fit man.

·       Somewhere far above the Heavens was place specially prepared by the Creator that no one had ever been including the angels, Satan and his devils. During the eight days between John 20:17 and John 20:27 this special place was entered by our High Priest, the true fit man, the true scapegoat, where He left the iniquity of our sin, never to be found again, never to be remembered again even by God.

·       Heb 9:26 .  .  .  but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

·       The putting away of sin was the removal of the iniquity of the sin into a place not inhabited. This included the iniquity that was placed upon the scapegoats, the animals, which were left in the wilderness on earth.

·       Heb 10:17-18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. This will never have to be repeated again!

Be careful. Do not think this is all about us.

·       Isa 43:24-25 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. (25) I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

For His sake the iniquities of the world were put away in a place not inhabited. He now does not remember our transgressions. He is relieved from the burden of remembrance.
