The Crown Of Thorns Part 2

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

·        The curse of the law is that man could not keep every jot and tittle of the law and deserves death because of his sins.

·        Another part of the law was Leviticus 17:11 . . .the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

·        The law also demanded atonement for sin be made through the shedding of innocent blood and it’s sprinkling around and upon the altars.

·        2Chronicles 29:24 reconciliation was made when the priest sprinkled the blood upon the altar to make an atonement .  .  .

·        Hebrews 9:22 .  .  . without shedding of blood is no remission.

·        Those animals never sinned, they never knew sin. They had to be offered the alter voluntarily

Leviticus 17:11 The life of the flesh is in the blood; Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 17:14; Deuteronomy 12:23 The blood is the life of the flesh

·        When the high priest sprinkled the blood of the sacrifice around and upon the altars he was sprinkling the life of the sacrifice.

Christ the voluntary sinless, offering

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

·        John 3:16 God gave his only begotten Son,

·        Hebrews 9:14 Christ offered himself through the power of the Spirit

·        1John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

·        1Peter 2:22;  Hebrews 4:15 Who did no sin, tempted like as we are, yet without sin

·        The meat offering was the bloodless sacrifice, the picture of the sinless life of Jesus. His life was a perfect, sinless life, experiencing every thing man experiences yet without sin. His body was the meat offering, made without leaven.

·        Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins

·        Matthew 27:4 Judas knew he had a part in the shedding of the innocent blood of Christ

·        The blood of Jesus was innocent blood. He was the innocent, sinless voluntary, sacrifice that rose from the dead. No animal sacrifice rose from the dead.

·        Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

1Peter 1:18-19 We were redeemed  with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot

·        As the lamb he was carried to the cross by his Father, as the bullock he had determined to go to the cross and could not be detoured.

Isaiah 53:4-5; 1Peter 2:24 whose stripes ye were healed.

·        Christ was stricken, afflicted, smitten, wounded, bruised because of our sins us. This happened before he gave up the ghost. Man meant His crucifixion for evil, God meant it for the salvation of many     (Gen 50:20)

Revelation 1:5 We are washed from our sins in the blood of Christ,

1John 1:7 the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

How are we healed by His stripes, how are we washed of our sin in His blood, How are we cleansed from our sin?

Consider the blood of His stripes and the blood of the crown of cursing.

·        When they laid the whip to Jesus his flesh was torn from his back, blood streamed from the gashes. His backside was covered with His blood.

·        When the crown of thorns was platted upon Christ's head the blood would have poured from the wounds. As he lowered His head blood would have covered the front of His body.

·        When He was hanging on the cross blood from His wounds continued to run down his body.

·        2Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him..

Before Christ was nailed to the cross the body the Father prepared for Him, that knew no sin, was made to be sin, our sin, the sin of the whole world. That sin of the whole world was covered by the blood from His stripes and the blood from the crown of thorns. The blood covered sin was buried in the tomb and when the body Christ raised from the dead it rose through the blood covered sin leaving them in the tomb. That body was once again sinless and this time. incorruptible.

·        1Conthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

·        1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

·        Since we will be like Him (the resurrected Christ), He had to have an incorruptible body first. His resurrected body made be sin or made a curse again. Our new body will be free from sin and cursing.

Hallelujah!!!

Hebrews 9:11-14, 24-26 The blood from the thorns and blood from the whip of scourging was sprinkled in Heaven by our High Priest and He made reconciliation for us and we have received the atonement.
