Jesus Christ After The Order Of  Melchisedec

The needed reconciliation: (Job 9:2, 32-33) Job knew he was not able to approach God on his own. Job’s knowledge of God brought fear to him.

His knowledge also brought comfort (Job 19:24-27)

Who is Melchisedec / Melchizedek?

Genesis 14:18-20 Melchizedek king of Salem; the priest of the most high God. Heb 7:1

·       While many believe Salem to be the original name of Jerusalem before it was Jebus (Judges 19:10; 1Chr 11:4), there is no definite statement of this.

·       Hebrews 7:1-2 clears this up; he was not a king of a city.

Ø    Melchisedec by interpretation is King of righteousness

Ø    King of Salem which is King of peace

The order of Melchisedec

·       Gen 14:18 Special order: King and Priest

·       Heb 7:1 Melchizedek the priest of most high God

·       Heb 7:2 Melchizedek = King of righteousness

·       Heb 7:2 King of Salem = King of peace

Ø    The order of priest / king was never mentioned in the law delivered by Moses. The priests, made under the law, were to be from the tribe of Levi only. King Saul lost the kingdom for his performing the offering of sacrifices.

Ø    Eternal priesthood: Heb 7:3 abideth a priest continually

The man Christ Jesus: After the order of Melchisedec

·       Seen in six verses in Hebrews: Heb 5:6, 10; 6:20; 7:11, 17, 21

·       Prophesized of in Ps 110:4.

·       Matthew King of the Jews; John king of Israel

·       Isa 9:6-7 Prince of Peace, His kingdom will never end, his peace will never end. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this: his obedience unto death

·       Zechariah 6:12-13 speaks of THE BRANCH will be both. priest and king

·       Heb 2:17 high priest in things pertaining to God,

The similitude of Melchisedec

·       Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent,

·       having neither beginning of days, nor end of life;

·       but made like unto the Son of God

·       Heb 7:15-16 power of an endless life

Jesus Christ: After the similitude of Melchisedec

·       Heb 7:15 after

·       Not after the law of a carnal commandment

·       Not a Levite; from the tribe of Judah

·       As the Word (John 1:1) had no beginning, no end,

Ø    See Rev 1:8,1; 21:26; 22:13

·       Jesus Christ had no descendents

·       The power of an endless life Heb 7:3

Ø    Mat 28:18 The risen Lord possessed all power

Ø    Ps 16:19; Acts 2:23-24

Ø    Heb 7:25 ever liveth to make intercession

Ø    Rev 1:18 alive for evermore

Heb 7:10 - Melchizedek) John 8:58 - (Jesus) Both before Levi

Consider this {thought of Tom May}: Before “The Word” was manifested in the flesh He was the Priest of the Most High God, appearing to Abraham as Melchizedek and he continued to intercede for the “the people”. He appeared as the angel of the LORD to interceded for the nation of Israel.

Heb 7:3 with John 11:34 and Dan 3:25

·       Wo was the forth man in the furnace? Melchizedek? The angel of the LORD? The pre-incarnate Jesus Christ?

·       I contend the answer is yes to all three.
