Chapter 11 Part 3

The Restoration of Israel Part 1

Matthew 19:27-29 refers to "the Regeneration "(V28) or the 1000 year reign of Christ when the 12 apostles will judge the remnant of each of the twelve tribes of Israel who are saved out of the tribulation period.

The remnant will receive:

·        Physical reward: receive 100 times what they will have to gave to follow the Lamb during the tribulation

·        Spiritual reward: everlasting life, something they never had before

Titus 3:3-7 Our regeneration (V5) is eternal life (7) with no promise of  receiving restitution for the physical things what we may lose.

**Romans 11:12-16 is concerning the

·        The  restoration  or Regeneration of Israel

V12- The fall of Israel is not about their being under Gentile control. Israel fell into gross sin and they have bowed away from God and denied their Messiah.

12a Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world

·        Compare Deuteronomy 28:1-14 with 28:15-44

·        Israel was to be the head nation of the world. All nations would come to Israel to buy. Israel was to be the nation that lead in every way. Wealth beyond anything the world has ever seen, including Solomon's reign where gold and silver were as stones.

·        Through their fall Israel became the tail nation and was scattered throughout the world. The wealth destined for Israel has been scattered throughout the world.

·        The blessings destined for Israel when they were in the land have been divided among the Gentile nations

12b the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles

·        The spotlight has left Israel; the world has taken it's eyes off Israel and has focused upon Gentile nations. As Israel's influence in the world diminished the influence of the Gentiles have taken over the world.

·        Israel has not achieved the sand of the sea population. Most Gentile nations have greater populations than Israel.

12c how much more their fulness?

·        If you think the world and Gentile nations have gained because of Israel's fall wait to see how much more they will benefit from Israel's fulness.

·        Jeremiah 30:22  & Hosea 2:23

Ø     Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

Ø     Hoses 2:23 Israel will be sown in the earth (as the sand of sea)

·        The fullness of Israel will come about when the nation is in the land of promise in obedience to the LORD and they enjoy the blessings of Deuteronomy 28:1-14

·        The world and Gentiles will be richer than ever.

***The true riches that have come to the world and the Gentiles through N.T. Israel's fall:

·        Acts 28:28 The salvation God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. The Gospel has went to places through the witness of Gentile Christians that the Jews were not going to go.

·        Romans 5:5 love of God shed in our hearts by the Holy Spirit

·        2Corinthians 4:6-7 The treasure of the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

·        Titus 3:5 Regeneration unto eternal life,

·        Hebrews 9:14 and the opportunity to serve the living God.

·        God has used the fall of Israel to enrich the world and Gentile nations through the knowledge of the gospel think what will be the outcome will be when Israel becomes the witness it should be.

**Vs 13-16 clarify V12

Vs 13-14 For. Provoking the Jews to emulation through jealously (V11)

·        Webster's 1828 Dictionary: Emulation: 1. An ardor kindled by the praise-worthy examples of others, inciting to imitate them, or to equal or excel them.

·        Israel should see the riches that came to the world and Gentiles and be jealous of what the Gentiles have.

·        By Paul going to the Gentiles with the Gospel Israel should have been jealous of the Gentile Christians' relationship with their Lord and want to imitate them.

·        Question: Have Gentile Christians been examples Israel would want to emulate? How have we done?

V15 For. God cast away the N.T Jews from reconciling the world and gave the word of reconciliation to the Gentiles (2Cor 5:19; this has only partially happened. When God receives a reconciled Israel into His stretched out arms (V10:21) Israel will be saved from the dead and eventually the world. The riches is salvation and the blessing of serving Jesus Christ. Why will a reconciled and regenerated Israel bring life from the dead to all the world? See V16

V11:16 FOR: refers to the receiving of them in V15: the regenerated Israel not the Israel of today; restored into His stretched out hands (V10:21), than all Israel shall be saved (V26). A redeemed nation of redeemed people.

The root (Jesus Christ, the Word of God) is holy so will the branches be. Holy branches will bare holy lumps of fruit and the holy firstfruit. A holy Israel will reproduce Holy nations and people unto their Lord.

Deuteronomy 6:13 "Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name" comes about when Hosea 2:23 is fulfilled.

V16 is the fullness of Israel spoken of in V12c.

Note:  From  the lump in

Romans 9:21 come vessels of honor and dishonor.. From the lump in 11:16

produces only holy vessels.
