V5:1-2 Therefore (See 4:25) and justified by faith

Ephsians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Hope: Romans 8:19; Philippians 1:20  Biblical hope is earnest expectation, Knowing God will do what He has promised and looking for Him to do it, with patience..

·        Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD

·        Psalm 130:5 ¶ I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

·        2Thessalonians 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

·        Hebrews 6:13-20      James 5:7-8

V5:3-5 Look at the ladder seen in these verses

Fifth rung: An Unashamed Witness (1:16-17, Philippians 1:20)

      Fourth rung: Hope  (Earnest expectation)

    Third rung: Experience

  Second rung: wrong Patience

First rung: Tribulation (defined in James 1:3 as the trying of your faith)

When you step off the top of the ladder: 1John 2:28 ¶ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

·        There is a direct connection between being not ashamed, being not embarrassed and being unapologetic of the gospel by which we are saved and standing before Christ not ashamed when we see Him face to face.

Vs 6-8, 10  Before we were saved we were all are ungodly, unrighteous, no good sinners who were the enemies to God. with no strength to be able to save ourselves. We were enemies of God because we are ungodly, unrighteous, no good sinners. Through the death of Jesus Christ die God sent His love to us. We have no right to demand His love.

V9-10 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

·        1Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (2Thessalonians 2:13-16)

·        Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

·        Justified by His Blood - Revelation 1:5  .  .  . Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Able to stand sinless before God.

·        Reconciled to God by the death, (paid the penalty for sin, accepted the wages our sin earned) enemies became sons. John 1:12 .  .  .  to them gave he power to become the sons of God

·        Saved by His resurrection Romans 4:25  .  .  .was raised again for our justification.

V11 Atonement: Being completely reconciled to God.

Paul want these early Christians and us to know there is more to our salvation than just being saved, we have joy in God

·        1Peter 1:8-9 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

·        Ephesians 2:15-18   2Corinthians 5:18-19

·        Joy is the inner peace we have knowing regardless of the circumstance all is well between my soul and God.

·        Joy is the inner peace we have knowing regardless of the circumstance we have been completely reconciled to God

Romans 6:17-23
