The mystery Of Iniquity Part 1

2Thess 2:1-12

·       V1 1Cor 15:51-54; 1Thes 4:13-17 The rapture

·       V2 The day of Christ begins with the rapture of the church, a twinkling of an eye moment. Do let others deceive you into believing it has happened already or it is a fairy tale. It may happen anytime. [1Cor 15:51-52]

·       Vs3-5 That day the day when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to establish the throne of David in Jerusalem at the end of the tribulation will not come until (1) there is a falling away and (2) the man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed. Told them before [1Thes 4:13-18]

·       V6 What is withholding the revelation of the son of perdition? The rapture of the church and the great falling away that comes after.

2Th 2:7a For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:

·       Iniquity 262 verses * Iniquities 55 verses

Ø    Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Ø    The good of doing right and the evil of doing wrong

Ø    They learned God is good; the serpent is evil

Ø    The goodness of God and the evil or wickedness of the serpent

Ø    Ex 28:28 the iniquity of the holy things offered to the LORD. With every sin there is an iniquity.

The mystery of iniquity is the counterpart of the mystery of godliness.

·       The mystery of godliness begins with God was manifest in the flesh, goodness was manifested in the flesh.

·       Heb 1:8-9 Iniquity is the counterpart of righteousness, godliness

·       The mystery of iniquity begins with evilness, that serpent. Evilness was manifest in the serpent. That serpent is still working his evil in the world.                        His work: “hath God said”

·       Iniquity is at work in anyone who denies the truth of God’s word.

·       The mystery of the gospel; the mystery of faith, the mystery of godliness; the great mystery of  Christ and the church seen in biblical marriage; all being corrupted today.

Ø    We see Homosexuality as iniquity at work the world does not.

Ø    The iniquity of the false religions [Mormonism, Catholicism, and all others] is hidden from the world. [1Cor 2:14]

2Th 2:7b- He that letteth or he that limits will hold back iniquity until he is taken out of the way. This is tied to the catching away of the church when the Holy Spirit who is protecting Christians from the full power of iniquity steps aside and allows the working of iniquity to be unchecked. Gal 4

The mystery Of Iniquity Part 1

V2:8-10a Than the Wicked will be revealed, the one called antichrist, the beast of Revelation who will be devil possessed and completely Satan controlled; Rev 13:4, who the Lord will destroy by the Holy Spirit [the spirit of his mouth] and His glory.

2Th 2:10-12

·       Vs 10b and 12 describes those who will be left on the earth after the church, all Christians, is removed. They will have chosen the pleasure of iniquity over the righteousness offered through the gospel. See Romans 1:32

·       V11 Instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to plead with their hearts to repent, God will send them a strong delusion to believe Satan’s lie of “hath God said”. They will be wicked beyond our imagination.

·       They will perish in their sin and iniquity.

The mystery of iniquity: Satan and his devils at work behind all that is evil!

1John 2:18 ¶ Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

2John 1:7 ¶ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

·       Mt 24:4 ¶ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

·       Gal 2:4

Ecc 3:16 ¶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

·       the deep things of God, 1Co 2:10

·       the depths of Satan, Re 2:24`

Acts 1:18 The reward of iniquity is death

Rom 2:4 The reward of God’s goodness is repentance unto life.

The mystery of iniquity: God allows it to exists along side His goodness!
