**The kingdom of heaven is primarily Jewish: The Son of God sitting on His throne on the earth. [Heb 1:8]

**The kingdom of God is primarily Gentile [Mt 21:43]: the presence and power of the Holy Ghost, and righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. [It is today: Col 4:11, 2Thes 1:5]

The parables of the kingdom of heaven presented a kingdom much different than what the apostles wanted or waited for. No utopia. So they may have thought surely the kingdom of God would be the perfect utopia they longed for.

There are two parts of the kingdom of heaven on earth, physical;

·       the thousand year reign of Christ  - physical battle to endure to the end

·       eternity with the Lamb – utopia on the earth of righteousness peace and joy.

There are to parts of the kingdom of God, spiritual

·       that which is within the believer [1Cor 15:50] inherited incorruptible of righteousness peace and joy. The Holy spirit within us.

·       that in which the believer lives where there is a spiritual warfare. [Eph 2:2,6:12] A battle the souls of the lost.

The parables of the kingdom of God concern the part in which we live and move; the spiritual battle going on around us.

The parable of the sower Luke 8:5, Mark 4:3 the kingdom God is not likened unto the sower it is about those who hear the word.

Lk 8 :11; Mk 4:14 the seed is the word of God; the world of the kingdom of God

·       Mr 1:14-15 – Repent and believe the gospel

·       Mt 26:12 – The message of the death of Christ

·       John 3:7, 16-18, 34-36; 6:47; 20:31, 1Pet 1:23

Lk 8:12; Mk 4:15 The devil [singular] is the fowls] plural] [The devil and his angels] acting as one.

Lk 8:13 Mk 4:16-17 the stony hearts

·       Mat 21:9, Mark 11:9-10 When Jesus entered the city the masses received Him gladly; “Hosanna in the highest”. At his crucifixion they yelled “crucify him”. ? Mat 27:20

·       Heb 6:4, 10:39

Lk 8:14; Mk 4:18-19 those who hear the word but the cares of the world choke out their response to the word. [Luke 18:22-24]

Lk 8:15; Mk 4:20 – those who receive the word and pass it on

Mark 4:11 mystery [1 parable], Luke 8:10 mysteries [2 parables]

·       To the Jews these parables are the mysteries of the kingdom of God. To the apostles they reveal the spiritual battle they will soon face.

Mark 4:30-32; Luke 13:18-19 The mustard seed

From the parable of the sower: What His apostles needed to know

·       The seed is the word of the kingdom of God: Ye must be born again

·       The fowls are Satan and his angels. Unlike Matthew where birds live in the tree in Mark and Luke fowls is used. During the thousand year reign of Christ Satan is chained and his angels [devils] will have to work alone; their power will be weakened when the devil is not with them. But in the kingdom of God Satan is with his devils leading them.

·       As the word of the kingdom of God spreads around the world Satan and his devils would be working to corrupt the word with his lies.

·       To the apostles: don’t be surprised as the scope Satan’s influence seems to be greater than theirs.

Satan’s battle plan is the same in the kingdom of God and as it will be in the kingdom of heaven: “Hath God said”.

·       Did God really say you must be born again?

·       Is Christ really he only way to heaven?

·       All the other religions can’t be wrong?

Lu 11:44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. {A tree can be full of fowls hidden within it’s leaves.} Jude 1:4

Luke 13:20 The woman and her leaven

·       When this parable was seen in Matthew we saw the woman would be a city that would corrupt the world with her sin during the thousand year reign of Christ.

·       The apostles were told there would be a city that would eventually corrupt the whole world during the kingdom of God with her sin. This city is a type of the city seen in Rev 17 [Mystery Babylon] which will be a type of the city during the thousand year reign of Christ. Today this city is Vatican City within Rome.

The kingdom of God is the presence and power of the Holy Ghost

·       Lu 4:1,14 ¶ And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

·       Ro 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

·       Ro 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

·       1Co 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
