The Mysteries To The Jews The Parables of the Kingdom Of God Part 1

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

·       Luke 17:20-21; it can not be seen is it within, spiritual

·       John 14:17, 15:26, 16:13 The promise of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of truth

·       Mark 9:1 with 1Cor 4:20

·       Mt 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God [V22], then the kingdom of God is come unto you{not in you}. Luke 11:20 finger of God [power of the Spirit of God]

·       The kingdom of God is the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. While the Spirit was with them they would not have part of the kingdom of God until He was in them.

·       Mark 14:15 Jesus said the kingdom of God was at hand it was because the Spirit was all around them with power.

·       The kingdom of God was about them {at hand} but not in them.

When Jesus began casting devils out of men things began to change. The Holy Spirit had a greater presence among man through the display of his power, thus the kingdom of God was around them.

Compare two verses Matthew 16:19 and John 20:23

Mt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

·       Who is the “thee” singular: Peter

·       Gal 2:7-8 Peter was the apostle to take the Jews.

·       The Jews were and are looking for the kingdom of heaven.

·       The keys to the kingdom of heaven: repent and be born again and you will have the kingdom of God within you and you will have a part in the kingdom of heaven.

When Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven by Jesus he was going to be the apostle to take the New Testament gospel to

To the Jews so they could have a part in the kingdom of heaven

John 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

·       The ‘ye” plural : All those who had received the Holy Ghost

·       How could they do this? Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and your sins will be forgiven do not believe and you will die in your sins.

*The kingdom of heaven is a physical kingdom; being saved during this kingdom is being saved physically alive into the thousand year reign Christ and into eternity with the Lamb. It will be a battle to keep from being killed.

*The kingdom of God is a spiritual, being saved during the kingdom of God one must be saved spiritually to have a part in the kingdom of God and in the kingdom of heaven. It is a spiritual battle.

·       Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

When Jesus began casting devils out of men things began to change. The Holy Spirit had a greater presence among man, thus the kingdom of God was around them.

Luke 11:1 The apostles witnessed Jesus praying and wanted to be able to pray as He did.

Vs2-4 The sample prayer

·       note difference between Luke 11:4 and Mat 6:13. In Mat 6:13 the forever kingdom is mentioned.

Luke 11:5-13 The Holy Spirit was offered to them if they only asked the Father. Remember V11:2. Thy kingdom come.

John 20:22 those apostles with Jesus received the Holy Ghost; they received the kingdom of God within them.

The had the comfort [John 14:18] but not the power

·       This why they were able to continue with one accord in Acts 1:14 and Acts 2:46 “one accord” is seen in 11 verses in acts

·       That is also why we may continue with one accord in the church today. [Phil 2;2]

On the board last week

Mat 6:33 - And his righteousness

Luke 12:31 - and his righteousness is missing

Mat 16:19 - thee, Gal 2: 7-8

John 20: 23 - 2Cor 5:19-20

* The kingdom of heaven is primarily Jewish

* The kingdom of God is primarily Gentile [Mat 21:43]

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

·       What things Mat 6:32 the thing the Gentiles seek [V25] physical thing while alive on earth.

·       Jesus knew those to whom He was speaking would all die before the kingdom of heaven would come to earth. They could only have a part in the kingdom of heaven through first having the kingdom of God. Chapter 5 is how they should act in the kingdom of God – to get the kingdom of heaven.

·       “And is righteousness”: To the Jews seeking the righteousness of God was a new concept and the Jews needed this special teaching.

·       Jesus had just taught them how to pray – if you want to pray like Jesus seek ye first the kingdom of God.

·       Consider this: we are not told how Peter witnessed to the Jews. Could his message to the Jews included “seek ye first the kingdom of God and you will have a part in the kingdom of heaven” and then gave them the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the indwelling of the Holy Ghost?

Lu 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you

·       What things: Lu 12:22-30 physical things while alive.

·       “And his righteousness” is not included as it is in Mat 6:33. As the teaching of the kingdom of God went mainly to the Gentiles [Mat 21:43] the indwelling of the Holy Spirit was included. Seeking the kingdom of God and seeking His righteousness was one in the same.

·       2Cor 5:19-21
