Israel’s history as we see it

His Promise:

Early rains: Preparing for the seed

The plagues of Egypt: The Passover: The Red Sea, - These showed who their LORD is’ His Might and His grace. Numbers 20:11 – Life giving water from the Rock – The LORD was showing they had to have the Spirit that flowed from Him to receive the Law, His Word.

God planted the Law in their hearts through Moses

The mid-season rains: Growing the plant

The building of the tabernacle – The LORD established how they were to worship Him.

Then the nation rejects the Promised Land. They desired the slavery of Egypt more than what The LORD had for them in the Promised Land. (They had to obey to be in the Land)

The latter rain was withheld the planted withered.  Wonder for 40 years 2,000,000+ die

More mid – season rain: they enter the land and grow into the greatest nation the world has ever seen under David & Solomon – but they reject The LORD (Isaiah 30:1) the latter rains are withheld the nation withers through the 70 year captivity in Babylon.

Cyrus sends them to rebuild the temple and the city is repaired; they soon pollute the offerings and the latter rains are withheld

More mid-season rains: Their Messiah comes they reject Him, the latter rains are withheld. Today they are a withering nation producing no fruit with the seed within it. (growing in population but what are they producing :seedless grapes that cannot produce fruit)

Something to think about: The fruit God created has the ability to reproduce from the seed within it. In an attempt to improve what God created the outcome is sometimes better to look at and may even be better tasting, but it often time does not have the ability to reproduce fruit from its own seed.
