Ephesians 4   (07-31-16)

1) We are to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called

2) Tells us how we are to walk worthy.

3) The purpose or outcome of walking worthy. If we know Christ as our savior we are unified in the Spirit, but are we always at peace with one another?

4-6) The unity of the Spirit is founded upon the oneness of God. If there are two they can not both be of God. Can there be unity and peace within the church if there are two groups going in opposite directions? How about two gospels being believed?

7-8) Each of us is given the grace necessary to receive the gift Jesus Christ gave to us.

9-10) This is the one who equips us, the one and only one who could and did fulfill all things [demanded by a just and holy God]

In between the descention and the ascension was the resurrection.    Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

We can be sure of our salvation because He rose form the dead and justified us in the sight of God. We can be assured that He gives us the grace needed to equip us to walk worthy of our vocation.

11) The gifts mentioned concentrated church leadership {primarily the pastor}

12-16) The purpose of these gifts

17) There is to be a difference between the walk of Christians and the walk of the lost. (conversation or lifestyle)

**Christians are to put off old way of life and the old way of thinking

We are to have a working knowledge of God’s Word. The local church has the responsibility to be the pillar and ground of the truth and teach that truth to the members of the church so they are not able to be taken in by the teaching of false doctrine. The only reason your thinking about God should change is because Bible says you need to change.

If a church gets 1Timothy 3:15-16 right (mystery of Godliness), error will have a hard time finding a home there.

20-21) The reason we should we be different

18-19, 22-29, 31-32) The difference the knowledge of Christ should make

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

**How are Ephesians 4 and Galatians tied to together

Galatians 1:6-7, 2:4, 6:9-10

Could Galatians be the expression of Holy Spirits reaction over a church, founded upon the true Gospel, allowing a false gospel to be proclaimed?
