Gospel Of Grace Intro

*The books of the prophets show that God will fulfill all His promises to Israel through the coming of the Just One. (Acts 7:52)

Consider the Gospels and the Church

The Gospel of:

1.    Matthew: The King of The Jews

2.    Mark: The Servant (perfect)

3.    Luke: The man (perfect)

4.    John: The Son of God (The deity of Jesus Christ)

When did the events recorded in these books take place?

·       Before the death,  burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

·       Under The Old  Testament

When were these books written?

·       After the death,  burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

·       Under The New Testament

·       Testaments of the life and death of the Just One.

These four books record Jesus showing Himself to the Jews as the Just One, their messiah and their rejections of Him. The events were between Christ and the Jews but the recording of them were for the church.

Through the study of these four books of the Bible Christians learn that the faith they place in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation is not in vain.

·       They prove Paul’s epistles to be true

·       They prove Acts 4:12 none other name [John 14:6]

In the book of Acts the transition from preaching going to the Jews only [Acts 11:19] to going to the Gentiles mainly [Acts 13:46, 18:6] is seen.

Acts 22:12-15 Paul’s special calling and mission

·       Know God’s will [Eph 1:9; 1Tim 2:3-4; 2Pet 3:9]

·       See the Just On and hear His voice.

·       Be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

1Co 9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

·       Paul could not escape his responsibility to preach the gospel committed to him to dispense to the gentiles.

·       Vs9:1-14 These verses plainly teach that those who preach the gospel (pastors, evangelists, missionaries) should able to live and support their families through offerings from those who hear the word. Note V12 They have the right to expect, even demand compensation. But that expectation should be expressed in a way that would hinder the preaching of the gospel.

Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: [Rom 1:5, Gal 1:16]

·       The mystery: Eph 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: (equal to the Christian Jews)

·       V8-9: Gentiles are fellowheirs of the riches of Christ,

·       The riches of Christ available to the Gentiles could not and can not  be found by searching the Old Testament scriptures. The riches to the Gentiles were first learned through Paul’s preaching. Today we may search for theses throughout both Testaments because Paul dispensed this knowledge in his epistles.

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

·       Everything Paul preached was dispensed to him by God.

·       2Cor 12:21, 1Cor 11:23, [Gal 1:10-12],

·       It was given to Paul to be passed on to the churches.

·       To fulfill the word of God.
