·       The use of “Holy Ghost” emphasizes the deity of the Holy Spirit and that He is equally and eternally God.

·       Holy Ghost also makes it clear we are filled with the same Spirit that filled the apostles in Acts 2:4.

·       When the S is capitalized the deity also emphasized.

·       Holy Ghost is always with capital H and G

The dispensation of God’s gospel of grace to the Gentiles, through Paul and the Holy Spirit of promise.

John 14:16 the promise of the coming of another Comforter

John 14:26, 15:26-27, John 16:13 Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth who would teach all things.

·       There is comfort in knowing the Holy Spirit will only lead in knowing that which is true. The Holy Spirit will never lead one into error

John 16:7 with John 20:22 Jesus gave them the comfort and protection of the truth before He ascended. (Not the power to go into the world and preach). (Acts 1:14 in one accord and pray)

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

·       The holy Spirit of promise is the Holy Ghost

Ro 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Acts the book of transitions: From Jerusalem to Antioch; from Peter (and the apostles) to Paul (and Barnabas); from the Jews only to the Gentiles mainly.

Another transition was how and when one received the Holy Ghost. When preaching by the Apostles primarily to the Jews only (Acts 11:19) there was a receiving of the word and then the receiving of the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:14-17) in the presence of the apostles.

·       After Saul of Tarsus became Paul the apostle to the Gentiles receiving the Holy Ghost was not a separate event. This was through the dispensation of God’s Gospel of Grace to the Gentiles through the ministry of Paul. This was the beginning of the end of the age of the apostles. We do not live in that apostolic age today.

2Cor 1:22 we are sealed with the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

·       According to Rom 12:3 every person has received the same measure of faith that can lead to the knowledge of God.

·       2Cor 4:13  All in Christ have the same spirit of faith by which we live (Rom 1:17)

Tit 3:5 We are saved according to his mercy by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

·       Quickened Eph 2:1,5; 1Peter 3:18

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit

Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

·       Ga 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father

1Co 2:9-10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God

·       His Spirit reveals the deep things of God through His word.

2Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

The flip side of the dispensation God’s gospel of grace to the Gentiles: Rom 8:9; Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (2Thes 1:9)
